![]() ![]() A celebration of life will be held from 3:00-6:00, August 27, 2022, at King Pins Portland. He was preceded in death by his father, Shigeo Itami wife, Geraldine Itami brother, Gary Itami. Frank is survived by his mother, Fumie Itami son, Chad Itami daughter, Holly Itami Springfels (husband, Chris) son, Tim Itami (wife, Jolene) grandchildren, Kimberly, Matthew, and Jonathan Walker great-grandchildren, William Temple, Carter Walker, and Madison Temple brother, Robert Itami (wife Kris) and many nieces and nephews. It didn’t matter what kind, baseball, basketball, wrestling, softball, volleyball, he loved watching it all. He was at every game he could be, hollering from the backstop, sidelines, or bleachers encouraging his kids, grandkids, nephews, and nieces. He loved watching, coaching, and umpiring. When he was 50 years old, he had his first 300 game and then another 300 game when he was 60. He was very proud that he had hit a hole-in-one. Frank loved sports, he was an avid bowler and golfer. He remained at Kern Park until his retirement. for a time before deciding to settle down at his family’s business, Kern Park Floral which was started by his grandfather in 1915. He took a break from the floral business and worked for both Carnation and for Gemtop Mfg. Frank was raised in the family business, working in the greenhouses as a child. Frank subsequently married Geraldine (Geri) Rettinger in 1986, who he remained married to until Geri’s death in 2017. He married Diana (Dee) Moore in 1963 and had three children together. After high school, he enlisted into the Army Reserves. During his four years, he participated in student government and various school clubs. Frank attended Arleta Elementary School and graduated from Franklin High School in 1960.
